From my experience women's' jeans are cut differently at the back. A woman's back curves in more than a mans so the cut of men's jeans tends to be straighter, whereas a woman's jeans seem to be cut to take into account the shape of her hips and waist. Hope that makes sense. More

If u wear a small hoodie in guy's, maybe try a large in junior's depending on the brand and fit. Small A&F guy's is about the same size as XL A&F for juniors, and Hollister seems to run a size smaller.
I've got some good printed hoodies from Forever 21 and Delia's, and some plain colors from AE and A&F, so I could have that slim look too. A few of the guy's hoodies are "vintage fit" and slim like that, but others still run baggy/bulky.... The girl's hoodies are cut a lot slimmer than guy's hoodies, so they'll fit more snug to start, but u may need to go down a size too.
Pretty much the chest size for a guy is the same for a girl's hoodie, depending on the fit the maker is after. If they say it's gunna fit a chest size 36a-36c though, I think that's like a 37-39 or about a guy's medium....
In short, try them all on, or have a good return policy, cuz like the jeans, they all fit differently.
If ur guy's waist is 30, you'll probly wear guy's 30 skinny jeans, cuz it's the cut that makes them extra baggy, not so much the waist. U may have to go down a size too. Girl's jeans are measured on their natural waist, which is higher up, so they'll be like 2-3 inches in size smaller than ur waist. Maybe look for a girl's 27-28 if ur a 30. Again, u'll have to try them all on, because their sizes are diffrent, and every brand and style is diffrent.
If u want to buy online, try them on in stores first to figure out a pattern to ur size and then order online. I've got some online that fit like a glove as i hoped, and others that were described accurately but didn't fit worth a... dang.... More
Men's jeans:
+ longer fly
+ roomier crotch area
+ sizes range from around 28 inch waist to 40-somethings, usually in even sizes but odd sizes also exist. This measures the waist in inches, so if you take a tape measure and measure your waist (around belly button) that's what size jeans you are.
Women's jeans:
+ shorter fly
+ average size usually ranges from 0 to 16, usually in even sizes. This is the same as skirt sizes, they don't correlate to how many inches your waist is.
I'm not sure about pants but I know in shirts the side your buttons are on are different in men's and womens. I'm wearing a men's shirt right now and the buttons are on my right, the button-holes on my left. If you were wearing a women's shirt, your buttons and button-holes should be the opposite of mine.
The styles of jeans are usually hard to tell apart especially nowadays. Today, both skinny jeans and bootcut jeans are popular in men's and women's styles. Generally speaking, men's jeans tend to be wider/baggier in the legs and overall compared to women's. More

I have this same problem (except I have short legs...... :[ ). I tried on every jean at the mall. The only ones that fit me are the gap curvy. There's still extra material at the waist but eh. They also have a long leg one maybe it will work for you.
Also, they're not plus sizes. Mine are a size 2 and they go down to 0 I think. More
