 | My county and some other towns surrounding my county got some bad flooding. The toy time by my area was totally destroyed. All the toys that they had saved up for the kids were destroyed. I have a bunch of old toys that I was going to get rid of anywho and I wondered if I should give them to toy time? Would it be better if I gave them to toy time or the salvation army? and do they take other toys besides stuffed animals? Like do they take barbies and stuff and do you have to wash everything before you give it to toy time? Thanx!!!!

| Call your local tv news channels. They usually have all up to date information that you may need or want to ask. More |

 | I want to get him a toy box for future toys and he won't mind getting that instead of a toy. I just don't know whats the best for toys. I get confused everytime we go to the toy department. The problem we have is that he'll be 1 year old only a month later so its hard to get him 12 month toys for his first christmas and then older toys only a month later. At this point he usually likes the packaging more than whats in it. More |

| For my son's first Christmas, we gave him diapers. =)
Don't worry so much about the ages listed on boxes. My son plays with just about anything that we help him find interesting. Even if the toy says "18 months" there will be plenty that he will find interesting. Really you only need to watch out for small parts he can swallow or moving parts that can pinch. Other than that, find something that you think fits his personality- animals, trucks, etc- and let him figure it out in his own time.
Also, books are always good. Even if they seem old, they always grow into them. Kids love pictures, plus you can feel like you're helping them learn.
OH- and if they make noise, make sure they have an OFF button. Rule number 1!!!
Right now, my 13 month old son is walking around with a diaper and an empty bowl. Kids love anything they can learn to manipulate. But now I think I'll go help him play with some real toys- my break is over. =) More |

 | My cat loves to play! She shreds up and tries to eat any toys with feathers, so I can't use those anymore. I let her play with little jingly balls during the day, and she loves them so much, but they're too noisy for night time. And she really loves to play at night. She doesn't seem to care too much for catnip filled toys. Any suggestions for a quieter toy that she might like to play with at night? More |

 | My cat is nearly 3 years old ( in November) and she gets lonely and bored alot of times when I'm busy and can't play or pet her. She doesn't like marbles or balls, she grew out of them, and I want to make her her own toy she could play with on her own and have fun. I can't buy any toys because my parents won't take me but I really want to make her something special so she won't be bored and lonely.
But she's afraid of almost everything so it can't be that big. More |

| Cats tend to be so fickle, that it's usually best to NOT put that much effort into it! Try out a few things to see what grabs her attention:
- Dangle a shoelace or string
- Attach a bell (or something with a little noise) to a stick
- Try a bow used for gift wrapping
- Toss her the cap of bottled water/milk
- My cats love to carry around hair binders
- Make a ball out of gift wrapping paper (so it crinkles)
- Blow bubbles near her
- Any flash light or small laser light can provide hours of entertainment
Good job looking after your cat's needs :) More |

 | How is it possible for people to have a website that sells action figures and other toys to carry a full line of old ones too? If the manufacturer (such as Hasbro) stopped making them years ago, where are the companies getting the stock? More |

| It depends on the site, but many literally buy cases of a particular line of toys direct from the manufacturer. Usually these are sold off to consumers either as individual figures, a full set of a particular series, or by case. It's interesting to note that since many collectors may be after a particular rare short-packed or chase figure, sites may force them into buying a whole set to get that one figure.
In any case, any left over product is still there in the inventory until the company sells it off, no matter how old it is. Sometimes this is a cheaper way to find old toys than trying to track them down on eBay.
Entertainment Earth is a site I check into from time to time.
It's very current, but does carry some older stock.
