 | I have a 2 sets of Scooby Doo dvds that my surround sound will not play the sound the picture is fine but the sound won't play, its the only ones that i have found that don't work- others dvds work fine. Why would the sound not work just for those dvds? Also the surround sound speakers won't work with satellite, and the tv speakers won't play with dvd only the surround sound speakers will. More |

| The DVD's surround sound encoding may not be compatible with the decoder in your receiver. As for the satellite, that is because it is in stereo, not in 5.1, 5.2, 7.1, 7.2, etc. The TV speakers don't work because the audio is being fed through the receiver, not the TV. More |

 | My acer laptop is making a terrible noise through the sound. I have disconnected the speakers but this noise still comes through head phones. Can I disable this sound on the motherboard and run a usb sound device to give me normal sound - if so, what are the steps to doing this. More |

| USB sound device? Sorry, I don't think that exists.
Try the troubleshooting steps already suggested & try re-installing the sound drivers. But if the sound (or video) actually fail on a laptop, it's gotta go in for repair- probably a motherboard replacement scenario. Hopefully under warranty... More |

 | Here's a question for you synth gurus. How do I make that rave sound with my synth? Is it a sound patch, sample or something else? More |
| Asked by: SppeedRacer |
| well, it depends on what type of synth you have. the roland jupiter, I think it is, has a patch on it called the hoover which is very commonly used in raves. it can be used for basslines, or as a lead. it's pretty useful. More |

 | We see light energy waves with our eyes, and hear sound energy waves with our ears.
Light can be broken down into different wavelengths meaning we see different colours and can also be broken down into ultra violet and infra red; sound can be different wavelengths making different sounds and pitches.
They are both energy waves.
Are they the same energy broken down into different wavelengths resulting in us seeing that energy as light and sound? More |

| wrong.
sound waves are not electromagnetic waves. they can't be broken down into anything, unlight light waves. More |
