My PC has four 2.0 USB ports, but I have 7 peripheral devices. I've purchased a 7 port USB hub. Does it matter if I plug the hub into one of the USB ports and then connect all 7 peripheral devices to the hub, or should I connect my primary devices i.e., keyborad, mouse and printer to the remaining three USB ports on my PC and then connect any remaining devices to the 7 port hub?
Thanks !

If the peripheral devices require a lot of power and the hub is powered, I would use them on the hub and keep the relatively low power consuming devices on the computer. If the hub isnt powered externally (which it should be if it has 7 ports), keep all the heavy load items on the computer... preferably on the rear ports. More
