 | How Do I set up a wireless fax machine? Do I have to do anything special such as inserting a chip or is that already in the fax machine. I am not a computer whiz and not so familiar with wireless gadgets. More |

| If it is an all in one device that you can use through a network as printer/scanner/fax and its docs do not mention anything about wireless, you would likely need a wireless print server if it is USB or parallel, or wireless bridge if it has an ethernet (RJ45) port.
Of course you need to connect any fax machine to a phone line (RJ11). If you do not have a phone jack nearby, there are powerline phone extension devices. One module plugs in near a phone line and the other near fax or phone. More |

 | We have this fax machine that calls our home about 5 times a day and beeps for 2 minutes straight. We have caller ID, so I have tried to call the number, but no one ever picks up.
Is there a way to literally block the fax machine from calling our home? More |

| Best approach: Call your local phone provider and ask if they provide "call block" service. Most phone providers do carry "call block" service. I have had this exact same problem and the best thing to do is to use this service. All you have to do is activate your call block service and it will automatically ask you if you want to block the most recent number that called you (you might not have Caller ID or be able to *69 to get the number). This way you don't have to even know the number, you can just activate the call block immediately upon receiving one of these annoying calls. Of course, if you DO have caller ID you can just access your "call block" feature and type in the number you want to block. Works like a charm!!
The only downside to this service is usually you can only block a total of 6 numbers at a time, but that's usually not a problem. After blocking a number for awhile, the person will stop calling anyway and you can take their number off of the blocked numbers list and add another number to be blocked if you should desire. Hope this helps!! It's the best way to stop those annoying fax calls, trust me! More |

 | My job hunt is very frustrating because too many employers demand to fax them relevant documents (like transcripts, resume, etc etc). I end up going to a store and paying $6 to 7 each time i fax stuff. I have repeated this cycle over 100 times in the past 8 months.
Can someone please let me know what would be the total cost of getting fax machine installed at home, and who will install it? Will my telephone company install it? More |

| Installation for a regular fax machine won't cost you anything. You just need to connect the phone line to your fax machine and thats it so the only cost is the actual price for the fax machine.
If I were you I'd go with the new age of faxing which is through internet and computers. If you are going to send a fax locally, meaning not long distance then you just need a modem on your computer and just get a free fax program on the net (its quite plenty) then send your fax thru there.
You can also sign up for fax to email services like Onesuite.com Fax Plus and just pay 2.5 cents per page for sending a fax anywhere in the U.S. You just need a computer with internet connection. More |
