 | It's hard believing that plastic leaches resins when exposed to hot liquids. Mom always said, "don't microwave in plastic."
But man, what coffee machines out there these days have NO PLASTIC touching hot liquid?
This is coming from a person who takes off the plastic top on his stainless thermos because I don't like drinking hot stuff through plastic. So not even where the filter goes can be plastic in my ideal world.
What coffee machines exist that have no plastic touching hot liquids??
Please list and provide links. More |

 | Are coffee machines with permanent coffee filters good? I have a coffee machine that uses the disposable filters, and I'm considering buying one with a permanent filter. Are they good? Are they bad? What are the pros and cons about them? More |

| Coffee machines with permanent filters are good. Paper filters take flavor from the coffee and put in paper flavor but it depends on your palate whether or not you can taste it or if it even matters to you. They say the gold filter is the best filter to keep flavor. The only con to the permanent filters is that the good ones are around $20 to replace but they do last a long time. And you should be able to buy a gold filter for your existing coffee maker. More |

 | I'm thinking of getting one for my dorm, but we're not allowed to have hot plates, or things with hot plates.
These are the coffee machines where the coffee brews directly into a mug.
I don't mean a detatchable hot plate, the regular coffee makers I've seen heats the pot from the bottom.
This coffee machine doesn't have pods, it has a permanent filter for any kind of coffee and can also be used for soup. More |

| Neither the Pod brewers, Keurig K-Cup brewers or Tassimo T-Disc brewers utilize a hot plate and would be perfectly suitable for your dorm room. All of them have an internal heating element to heat the water, but brew directly into a mug.
Which model you choose depend on your preferences and whether you are looking for just straight coffee or also coffee house style drinks like lattes or cappucinos. I would suggest a visit to the Single Serve Coffee forums to learn and read more. More |

| The red thing is to indicate when the drip tray is too full. When there is too much water it will pop up and it means the drip tray has too much water and you need to empty it. More |

 | I'm trying to find the best coffee (cappuccino) for coffee machines More |
| Asked by: Chris |
| If you have a machine where you grind your own beans, I prefer dark French roast (ground fine, of course).
If you have a machine that requires packets, I don't have any opinion.
Cappuccino is not a type of coffee, it's a way of preparing coffee. More |
